All types of jewelry settings are designed for the purpose of securing gemstones in jewelry.

Bezel

The Bezel setting is a solid metal strip that encompasses the whole stone. It is open from the bottom for light to be able to penetrate and for cleaning purposes. People who are practical that like simplicity or low key jewelry will find the bezel very attractive.

Half Bezel

The Half Bezel is similar to the bezel except part of the metal from two sides is taken out so the stone will have more light. It’s also open from the bottom. This is a smart and simple type of jewelry setting.

Prong Setting

The Prong Setting is fashionable, gentle and delicate. They can have 2-8 prongs depending on the actual piece of jewelry. Prong settings are wonderful for any kind of gemstones; they look elegant and truly compliment any piece of jewelry. Since the setting consists of prongs, the stones are exposed to plenty of light so they "shine" to their full potential.

Channel Set

The Channel Set is beautiful, smooth, and elegant, used often for setting of smaller gemstones that are set in a channel, meaning between two walls of metal. Round, square - princess, or baguette cut gemstones are favorable for this type of setting. If you work with your hands, this smooth type of setting will compliment your lifestyle.

Pave

The Pave setting is a delicate setting used for gemstones that are set in rows or in a cluster, tightly set next to each other causing a “paved” like effect on the surface of jewelry. The word Pave is from a French word paved. This exquisite jewelry setting requires some practice for a stone setter to master. Diamonds look fabulous in Pave.

Invisible

The Invisible setting gives the appearance that the stones are set aloft without any metal visible between them. The stones actually have tiny grooves on the bottom of them so they interlock and are held in place. This setting takes a great deal of skill because the grooves have to be cut into each gemstones girdle, and the grooves have to match perfectly. This setting looks fabulous and heightens the brightness of gemstones.
